The challenge

Volt is a global real-time payments platform operating across 30+ markets, including the UK, Europe, and Australia.

As the business expanded its Australian presence, it was entering a sophisticated and increasingly competitive payments market. Volt had strong technology, international credentials, and experienced local leadership, but needed to build the independent market recognition to match its ambitions in Australia.

The challenge was to establish a distinct point of view in a market crowded with payments companies, banks, and fintech platforms, while translating a complex infrastructure story into narratives that mattered to Australian businesses, partners, and industry media.

Volt engaged Hyde & Seek in April 2026 to build local authority through earned media, executive positioning, and market entry PR.

The strategy

Hyde & Seek built the Australian PR strategy around three things: what Volt should be known for, who needed to hear it, and the stories that would make them pay attention.

Owning the real-time payments conversation

Rather than relying on product announcements, we identified the broader conversations where Volt had genuine expertise to contribute, including real-time payments, account-to-account payments, payment infrastructure, merchant experience, and the evolution of Australia’s payments ecosystem.

We developed proactive commentary and stories around those themes, connecting Volt’s expertise to developments already being discussed by Australian fintech and business audiences. This gave the team opportunities to contribute to the market conversation even when Volt itself was not the news.

Turning technical expertise into media-ready stories

Payments infrastructure can quickly become technical. Our role was to find the commercial implication behind the technology and turn it into something journalists and their audiences could immediately understand.

That included stories on what Volt’s payments data revealed about the rise of the 24/7 trader, how Australia was becoming a testing ground for global brokers experimenting with new payment infrastructure, and how Volt’s Trade Nation partnership created a real-time payments model in Australia with potential for wider expansion.

The positioning also began generating organic media recognition. Finance Magnates subsequently referenced Volt in separate coverage without being directly pitched, drawing on previously published material when examining real-time payments infrastructure in the CFD sector.

Building executive authority

Alongside company positioning, we worked with Volt’s Australian leadership to strengthen their profiles as credible voices within fintech, identifying commentary opportunities, developing opinion-led narratives, and using industry moments such as Intersekt to put them into relevant conversations.

The results

Across five months, Hyde & Seek generated 10 published placements across fintech, finance, and business media, including Finance Magnates, Payday News, Australian Fintech, Fintech News Australia, and Ausbiz.

The program built a growing body of independent third-party coverage around Volt’s Australian operations, leadership, and areas of expertise, strengthening what prospective customers, partners, and journalists find when they research the company.

Within five months, Hyde & Seek’s remit expanded beyond media relations into launch strategy, executive positioning, industry opportunities, and communications planning around major business priorities.
